Jazz Up Your Living Room With These Virtual Parties

Bored in your pyjamas and tired of replaying the same tunes over and over again? Life in lockdown does not have to be mundane. Aside from the constant drone of zoom calls, Houseparty or Jackbox games, here is a selection of parties that go beyond just being a livestream. From VR and instagram filters, occasions to dress up to, virtual partying will never be the same again.


Late night gaming using a solitaire app or playing bingo has never been more spunky with a series of numbered cards and ridiculous mini-games that will have you running to your toilet. With an eclectic sense of humour, Stu-art Wee and Emily Png start off the night by guiding you through a home-made cocktail concoction before injecting innocuous fun into the session. Hear 65 Sing Along SG

Dim the lights and whip up your microphones.  Hosted by the amazing Munah Bagharib and presented by Bandwagon’s collaborative project with NAC, Hear 65, you certainly won’t get bored jiving to the tunes with Hubba Bubbas, OHMYMEITING, Goose, Sam Rui and M1ldl1fe,  as they are belted out with a live subtitling. The next karaoke session happens on 30 May, with two more sessions to be announced soon on 6 and 3 June.


Baby Boy Party

Twerk it up with a series of Queerantine parties hosted by your sassy queens, Vanda Miss Joaquim and Farrah Shamrockwho will heat up your virtual screens with a multitude of hip-hop and R&B bangers. Dance as you may, or swing your kittens around in your best stay-home outfit. This party is for the fun and fabulous. There’s a session tonight at 10pm, so don’t forget to set your alarms for this one.


Marquee Singapore

Party purple with international DJ icons, Nicky Romero, Steve Aoki and Andrew Rayel tonight, Friday, 22 May at 9pm via Twitch and Zoom. Put on your best DIY headdress and stand to win attractive prizes such as a Samsung Galaxy watch, or participate in an online TikTok Dance challenge with the rest of your Marquee squad. Other DJs in their online party series include Dash Berlin, MarLo, Dannic, Blasterjaxx and Paul Van Dyk.

It was a lot of leg work and a great partnership with Marina Bay Sands that led us to create something so unique and special. We may be physically apart during this current period in Singapore, but we still hope to bring a slice of Marquee’s nightlife to our fans’ homes. We are so grateful to everyone who has made our first year so memorable and we can’t wait to welcome our guests back when we re-open.”


Music For A Cause

To raise funds for musicians, local hawkers and front-line workers, non-profit organisation Music For A Cause will be enlisting an all-star Singaporean lineup featuring Gareth Fernandez, Linying, Shye, BRB Dru Chen, Joie Tan, Charlie Lim, and more, to jive together.

Music Matters Live from Home

The 13-year old independent music festival will be on hiatus this year but they have kept their spirits up by bringing you acts from around the region every Tuesday and Thursday, such as Keiko Necesario, Jesse Ruben, Fuzz Culture and Your Girl Pho. On Wednesdays, they have launched a new 6 part series in conjunction with the Singapore Tourism Board featuring Canadian Rockers, Simple Plan, “South-East Asia has always been a very special place for us and we have loved touring there since the first time we got to visit the region back in 2002. We have incredible memories of amazing shows and hanging out with our fans who have welcomed us with open arms and embraced the band since day one.”

Branded Ltd Founder and CEO Jasper Donat said “For 15 years Music Matters has brought artists together from all over the world to perform live on stage and attend our conferences and academies in Singapore. By taking it online, Music Matters Live From Home allows us to create some amazing international musical collaborations which may never have been possible before. Zouk Phuturescapes

Singapore Tourism Board (STB) teams up with Asia’s most established nightclub, Zouk Singapore to bring Diplo, Christina Novelli, alongside local artistes DJ LeNERD, DJ Che’MollyKoFlow, Yung Raja and Jasmine Sokko. There will also be usage of innovative technology elements such as augmented reality filters and 3D virtual backgrounds by VICE.

STB’s Assistant Chief Executive (Marketing Group) Lynette Pang said: “We aspire to take the concept of virtual parties to the next level through a mix of content curation, immersive technology, audience engagement, and innovative marketing. In doing so, we will showcase the best of Singapore’s entertainment and nightlife, and shine the spotlight on our home-grown talents. Together with Zouk, we welcome audiences around the world to join us for this unique experience from the comfort and safety of their own homes.”
