The 2024 Milken Institute Asia Summit, founded by American finance leader Michael Milken, is a prestigious annual event in Singapore. The closed door conference, with panels that are publicized post-event, is expected to gather over 1,200 global c-suites and high caliber talent, spanning diverse fields in health, finance, technology, sustainability and philanthropy, to engage in high-level sector discussions and foster productive partnerships, for the betterment of the Asia-Pacific region.
This year’s theme, “Impactful Ideas: Purposeful Action” underscores the need for decisive actions that drive positive impact, to address the multifaceted challenges faced by the region. Last year’s Asia summit was hosted by Loh Boon Chye, CEO of SGX Group. It aptly marked the milestone of the 10th Asia Summit, by highlighting Singapore’s importance as a global business hub, which included invitations of reputable and high-profile guests, such as our current Prime Minister (former Deputy Prime Minister) Lawrence Wong, as well as some of the region’s most well-known names in the public and private sectors.

In the lifestyle sphere, 2023’s edition was attended by heavyweights such as AirAsia’s Tony Fernandes, who drew out nuggets of wisdom to inspire the next generation, from NBA’s Asian success story, Taiwanese Jeremy Lin.
Other inspiring speakers include, Eric Nam who discussed the intersection of celebrity influence in K-Pop culture and mental health awareness in the music industry. His keynote speech emphasized the role of public figures in destigmatizing such issues and promoting open dialogue. Nam shared personal experiences and advocated for increased support systems and resources for mental health.
To add a dash of intellectual glamour, highly regarded international chefs, Wolfgang Puck, Daniel Boulud and Nobu Matsuhisa were invited to explore trends in the global food industry, which cater to the evolving culinary needs of their consumers. Their discussion highlighted the impact of cultural exchange on cuisine, sustainability in food production, and the role of innovation in shaping future dining experiences.
With tremendous support from the Singapore Tourism Board, past summits have have been pivotal in addressing key regional and global issues through high-profile discussions and diverse panels. These events have featured influential speakers, tackled a multitude of pressing topics ranging from geopolitical tensions to sustainable investment and healthcare innovation. The immersive and interactive nature of the past summits, combined with Singapore’s strategic role as a host, has solidified their status as a major platform for thought leadership and impactful dialogue.
