Special menus to celebrate our Nation’s 57th birthday

You know the drill – National Day is fast approaching, and restaurants are seizing this opportunity to push out festive set menus to entice diners. In the mood to try something new this National Day? Check out our top picks.

Yàn’s Dim Sum Menu

Take a tour of the latest exhibitions at the National Gallery before popping over to Yàn’s at level 5.

Expect delectable, traditional Cantonese cuisine served with finesse, such as the xiao long bao with bak kut teh stock, braised kong bak pork belly with a moist steam bun, alongside chili crabs with deep fried mantous. Definitely crowd favourites for the local palette.

Runs till 31 August, Dishes: from S$6-S$14++

Binary’s National Day Set

If there’s one National Day special you ought to check out this week, make it Binary. The modern gastro bar is called such because of the duality of their Asian and Western offerings. It is tucked away at the heart of Orchard Road and their team has created a special menu just for the occasion.

Chicken wings served with house-made sambal tumis, seafood laksa pasta, jumbo chicken satay – whilst not particularly Instagram-worthy, definitely scores high on our chart for execution and wholesome flavours.

Plus, if there’s one thing Singaporeans love, it is a good deal. Seeing as Binary’s set comes with not just food, but house-styled “Milo-tini” cocktails for two, we’d say it’s definitely bang for your buck.

Runs till: 14 Aug 2022, Set menu for two at $57++.

This was an invited tasting.

Ce La Vi’s National Day BBQ

For those who prefer to celebrate in style, check out Ce La Vi’s special BBQ menu, which features Fremantle octopus, BBQ oysters with smoked ponzu granita, Balinese baby back pork ribs and more.

A luxurious palette of food is not not the only attraction at Ce La Vi, there’s also live DJ entertainment for the adults, and popcorn stations and face-painting zones for the kids. Not forgetting a view of the fireworks from the highest point of Marina Bay Sands.

Runs till: 9 Aug 2022, Racines’ National Day Brunch ($128++ per person)
