Anime twist for your wrist with Swatch x Dragon Ball Z

Swatch’s timeless pieces have taken a fresh Japanese form in their latest collaboration with Toei Animation. The seven exclusive timepieces are modelled after the following characters: Goku, Cell, Frieza, Buu, Gohan, Vegeta, and Kamesennin (aka Master Roshi).

Inspired by the trusting nature of Goku, the most trustworthy character from Dragon Ball Z and based loosely from the Chinese legend, Sun Wukong, from Journey to the West. This particular silicon quartz-based watch features 悟 in kanji characters, making it the most iconic watch of the collection.

If you prefer a more light-hearted watch, with comic references, the Kamesennin edition that features a comic-rendition of Master Roshi, or more affectionately known as Jackie Chun (a parody of Jackie Chan), who trained Son Goku. Because of his more lascivious nature, this piece features a spunky Hawaiian print as a wrist design, with a bright blast of purple complemented with orange. It retails for SGD 149.

Ardent collectors may prefer the more straightforward watch-face with a more traditional dial, such as the Cell x Swatch. Cell, an angry antagonist designed to destroy Goku, is the proud creation of cold-hearted scientist, Dr Gero. This number features a black bezel with a multi-coloured green army-like print, symbolic of his recombinant nature.

Prices for the Dragonball Z x Swatch collection range from SGD 119 to 194 and is available online on Swatch’s website.
