After back-to-back showcases in Singapore since the instalment of its fashion week cycle in 2011, Fidé Productions will not be showing in Singapore this year.
Instead, the company announced in a press release yesterday that they will embark on a world tour to partner select countries and co-present fashion weeks with them.
Beginning with the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival in September this year, Fidé will also co-present the first-ever Vietnam International Fashion Week in December.
The company decided to embark on the world tour stretching into next year “following the rousing success of Fidé’s initiatives in Asia, and to align with our goal of constantly evolving and pushing the boundaries of fashion”.
Next year, it plans to co-present fashion weeks in Beijing, Dubai, Tokyo and Singapore.
A spokesperson from Marina Bay Sands confirmed this to Popspoken, saying that this year’s fashion week partnership was with international fashion event company IMG. The fashion week event, Front Row at The Shoppes, will be held from 8-10 October and is slated to feature top celebs and designers flown in from overseas to show in Singapore.
The spokesperson confirmed that Fidé will not partner with Marina Bay Sands this year and said that no agreement had been reached as of press time for a partnership in 2015.
Fidé Productions has achieved some firsts since its inception. It has organised Asia’s first complete fashion season, launched Asia’s first haute couture fashion week and established the Asian Couture Federation which accredits and houses couturiers from the region.
