Supercars, Superstars and Unrivalled Adventures with Gumball 3000

AUTHOR

For 25 years, the Gumball 3000 Rally has defined itself as the pinnacle of luxury road travel, merging automobiles, art and popular culture into a globe-trotting celebration of aspirational lifestyles.

What began as a small adventure in 1999 has transformed into a cultural phenomenon—a week-long festival of supercars, VIP parties, and unforgettable experiences that continues to captivate fans and participants alike. The 25th-anniversary edition, held from 15 to 21 September, marked a milestone as it blazed an epic trail across Southeast Asia, culminating in a celebratory finale in Singapore, albeit partially overshadowed by the Formula 1 Singapore races this year.

Since its inception, Gumball 3000 has transcended the rally itself to become an aspirational lifestyle brand, inspiring a generation of car enthusiasts and cultural tastemakers. Founded by British entrepreneur Maximillion Cooper, the rally quickly became a must-do event on the global calendar, attracting icons like David Hasselhoff, Lewis Hamilton, Snoop Dogg, Idris Elba, deadmau5 and Adrien Brody. Over the years, Gumball has partnered with leading brands including Nike, PlayStation, Google and MTV.

An Unparalleled Journey: Southeast Asia Adventure

This year’s rally took Gumballers on an extraordinary journey through Southeast Asia, touching down in iconic destinations like Saigon, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Bangkok, Krabi, Kuala Lumpur, and ending with a stunning final stop in Singapore. From bustling urban grids to coastal highways, the convoy of supercars delivered a spectacle wherever it went. Enthusiastic fans lined the streets to witness the Gumball Grid, where cars parked like prized jewels, showcasing a mix of classic models, hypercars, and custom marvels that earned the title of the “world’s most expensive car park.”

The rally featured a star-studded lineup of participants and influencers, adding to the excitement. Among the notable attendees were, Gumball 3000 Founder, Maximillion Cooper (@mrgumball3000), Australian YouTubers Lazarbeam and Lachlan , MLB Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. , Central Cee’s DJ Andy Purnell and Ja Rule.

True to its adventurous spirit, the rally experienced its share of hiccups, from logistical hurdles to unexpected delays—but that’s part of what makes Gumball 3000 unique. It’s a test of endurance and camaraderie, where entrants come together, not to race, but to embrace the spirit of the journey. As the motto goes: “It’s a rally, not a race.”

A Grand Finale in Singapore: LAVO and Ulysse Nardin

The culmination of this epic adventure was celebrated in grandeur at LAVO Singapore, a rooftop bar perched above the city skyline. Hosted in partnership with luxury Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin, the final party epitomized the Gumball ethos—a seamless blend of style, sophistication, and spectacle. Guests were treated to breathtaking views, exclusive hospitality, and an atmosphere charged with the energy of a journey completed.

Ulysse Nardin, renowned for its precision timepieces and adventurous spirit, perfectly complemented the Gumball 3000 brand. The collaboration was a nod to shared values—a celebration of craftsmanship, individuality, and the drive to push boundaries.

A Legacy of Culture

Crucially, the rally has also maintained a strong philanthropic arm. The Gumball 3000 Foundation, established in 2013, leverages the rally’s considerable influence to support youth-based projects in underserved communities. To date, the foundation has raised over £5 million, funding initiatives like skateparks, educational programs and social enterprises around the world. Gumball 3000’s ability to blend adventure with meaningful impact sets it apart from other luxury events.

What’s Next: The European Rally

As the dust settles on Southeast Asia’s adventure with local drivers Eu Gene Goh and Amanda Toh-Steckler,  President of the McLaren Owners Club Singapore and founder of the Supercars Ladies Club, Gumball 3000 is already setting its sights on its next chapter: the 2025 rally in Europe, from Istanbul, Bucharest, Belgrade, Venice, Nice, Barcelona and culminating at Ibiza from 20 to 27 September 2025.

Promising new routes, breathtaking scenery, and, of course, its signature mix of supercars, superstars, and supercharged celebrations, the rally will feature iconic grids in major cities, thrilling driving experiences, and free public events that bring the Gumball spectacle closer to communities.
