Singapore Grand Prix 2019: The Definitive Guide To Off-Track Parties and Events Happening Over F1 Weekend

It’s that time of the year again when roads get blocked and the city is buzzing with energy as the Singapore Grand Prix returns for its 11th run and All That Matters for its 9th year.

Senior management from various entertainment fields such as sports, e-gaming and music will be flying down once again for conference sessions at Music Matters from today till 18 September 2019. Some highlights this year include Vinai Venkatesham’s panel on Arsenal FC’s egional strategy and how Sara Bollwinkel from Paradigm Agency has developed pop icon Billie Eilish to be a phenomenal worldwide success. The most promising acts in the region such as Dear Kiss (Japan), Jamilla (Australia), Juan Karlos (Philipines) and more are all down for over fifty complimentary post-event gigs that take place surrounding the conference dates.

Kick back and unwind with a host of parties tonight. Fromcharming French electro duo, Breakbot & Irfane at Kilo Lounge,  local talent featuring Shigga Shay, Nash D, The Lion City Boy, MYRNE & Rattle at Zouk, to international stalwarts such as Galantis at Marquee, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Chase your Monday blues away at the Clarke Quay fountain square from 5pm with Kyle Patrick of Click 5 fame rounding off the main stage. Continue your night at local craft beer brewery, The Crossroads at the Bandwagon stage as you jive to international and regional acts such as Keiko Necesario (PH), Jakob (AU), Scaller (ID), One Click Straight (PH), Totemo (IL) and 美秀集團 aka Bisiugroup (TW) spanning various genres such as electro folk, hip-hop and instrumental rock.

Private showcase by Universal Music features indie-electronica act Jeremy Zucker, alt-pop duo Oh Wonder and home-grown wunderkid, Charlie Lim. There are various ways to score tickets to this exclusive gig, so keep your eyes peeled on the Facebook event page as well as TikTok’s #justcomethru challenge.

18 September 2019, Wednesday

Break your week with different genres of music, ranging from hard-hitting commercial EDM at Zouk with the label showcase presented by Ten Cent and Sony Music, Liquid State featuring a megawatt line-up with R3HAB, Alan Walker, Corsak and more. Groove to local beats and support female acts such as iNCH as well as regional favourites such as Dear Kiss and Kiana at Timbre.

Bringing you the best of the subversive spirit with stories gathered from local creatives such as RAH, Tina Fung, Eden Cai and more is Fred Perry that is throwing a party at DECK starting from Friday and Saturday noon. If you’re not a fan of electronic music celebrities, Swedish House Mafia nor the races, get your dose of soulful art at the 7th anniversary of Art After Dark with an outdoor puppet theatre and a walkthrough by German-American photographer Karen Knorr at Sundaram Tagore gallery.

After the races, there’s a who slew of parties lined up, with international DJs such as DJ Ruckus, Babey Drew and more. Just hot off the heels of the Spice World tour is sporty spice, Melanie C, who will be gracing Podium Lounge on Friday. Former Formula 1 Driver and Fox Sports Asia’s F1 Pundit Alex Yoong and E! News Asia Host Yvette King will be the hosts for the evening alongside aerialist, grid-girl performances throughout the night.

21 September 2019, Saturday

More alternative fun today with a mix of Cuban, blues and funk at the Block Party along Haji Lane, featuring Live Mix Maestro Champion, DJ Shai and the Havana Social Club that will pay tribute to the salacious salsa tunes of the Buena Vista Social club. The second day of Fred Perry’s party will feature Singapore Community Radio, that will live stream the DJ set for the first 3 hours. Get there hungry so you can fill your belly with local, champagne-coloured inspired bites by graphic-designer turned chef, Graavy Baby.

The final lap sees rock legends Red Hot Chili Peppers round off the entertainment lineup at the Grand Prix. Ella Eyre, Brit and MOBO award winner will bring her infectious energy to the closing party at Amber Lounge. A truly red carpet affair as it’s known to be graced by race car drivers and celebrities, making it the party to be at where you can hold your champagne glasses and cheers till dawn.
