The next big innovation doesn’t always come from a research lab—it could just as easily begin in a classroom.
After a milestone year that saw young innovators tackle everything from accessibility to sustainability, Samsung Electronics Singapore is bringing back Solve for Tomorrow for its 10th edition, once again inviting students across Singapore to turn bold ideas into solutions that make a real difference.
More than a competition, Solve for Tomorrow has become a launchpad for the next generation of changemakers, equipping youths with critical thinking, STEM and AI skills while encouraging them to solve challenges that matter to their communities.
“At Samsung, we believe that youths hold the key to shaping a better tomorrow for all,” says Jeffrey Hahn, President of Samsung Electronics Singapore. “When given the right platform and opportunity to utilise their critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as their knowledge in STEM and artificial intelligence, they have the potential to devise groundbreaking innovations that can make a positive impact on our society and the world.”
This year’s edition builds on the momentum of 2025, when Grand Prize winners Team BuddyBot earned the opportunity to visit Samsung’s innovation facilities in South Korea. For team member Bella Teo, seeing how ambitious ideas evolve into technologies used around the world reinforced the importance of designing with purpose and solving real-world problems—a lesson she hopes future participants will experience for themselves.
For 2026, participants are invited to develop ideas across four themes that reflect today’s biggest opportunities and challenges: environmental sustainability; sport, health and technology; inclusivity and social harmony; and trust, security and privacy in the age of AI. Whether it’s creating smarter recycling systems, improving mental wellbeing through technology or designing more inclusive digital experiences, the competition encourages students to think beyond the classroom and imagine practical solutions with lasting impact.
Entries are now open until 18 September 2026, with teams of two to four students aged 12 to 18 from secondary schools and international schools across Singapore eligible to participate. Alongside cash awards and Samsung products for the top teams, finalists will gain valuable mentorship, exposure and the chance to see their ideas recognised on a national stage.
As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the way we live, work and learn, Solve for Tomorrow’s tenth edition arrives at an opportune moment—challenging young people not only to embrace emerging technologies, but to use them thoughtfully in building a more sustainable, inclusive and secure future.
