Resorts World Genting is certainly a holiday destination Singaporeans are familiar with having opened its gates 35 years ago. Back then, Genting Theme Park opened its doors with 3 rides and it has since grown to a multi-million project with over 50 rides.
Currently holding the Guiness World Record for the most number of hotel rooms in a hotel at 6,118 rooms, the Genting Group is a groundbreaker and is sure to break further ground by housing the first-ever 20th Century Fox Theme Park. However, before you make your way to the destination, make sure to check for holiday lodges availability. “For the first time, audiences will soon be transported into the worlds of their favourite 20th Century Fox properties,” said Jeffrey Godsick, President of 20th Century Fox Consumer Products, to press last weekend.
Slated to open in 2016, the 20th Century Theme Park will feature based on favourites such as Ice Age, Rio, Life of Pi, Titanic and Night at the Museum; and will span across 25 acres of land.
Not wanting to miss out on the growing world market trend for Theme Parks -projected to reach US31.8 billion in 2017 – Resorts World Genting will invest an estimated RM400 million to fund this exclusive collaboration with 20th Century Fox.
Come September 2013, Genting Theme Park will close its doors and “will literally be moving mountains” as they have to start building from scratch right down to the last nut and bolt. We wait in anticipation as Malaysia’s oldest theme park will soon be the newest kid on the block with bigger, better and more magical treats for the family.
From 2013 till 20th Century Fox Theme Park’s soft launch in 2016, Resorts World Genting will have no lack of activities for holiday-goers despite the temporary closure of the Genting Theme Park. Not only is it home to the World’s Leading Casino Resort (2005, 2007 to 2010), many international exhibitions will be held too.
