Luxe, Simplistic Elegance in the Heart of Chinatown

Not something that screams out at you, the Luxe brand epitomises simplistic elegance. From the clean interiors to the green terrarium touches, one’s mind is put at ease with the surroundings. With such a setting, not settling down with a cuppa good, strong roasted coffee and a book in hand on a sunny afternoon, would be a crime.

Hailing from Sydney, the Luxe group has cemented its worth down-under by serving artisinal baked goods, quality breakfasts. Translating such dishes to the Singaporean palate is certainly not an easy feat, a difficult task which chef Chui Lee Luk had to undertake. Having spent most of her childhood in Sabah, Malaysia, chef Chui is familiar with the Asian palate, and has concocted a fancy menu infusing localized ingredients, to give the Western menu an Asian twist.

Pork and Fennel Sausage Roll

A must try on anyone’s list is definitely the Pork and Fennel Sausage Roll ($18) that oozed with pork filings, beneath the sultry, buttery crust. Elsewise, do try their trendy cocktail menu. Making use of spices such as tamarind, the bar has whipped up the Tamarind Margarita, which is essentially a mixture of Cimarron Tequila Blanco, Tmarind Som, fresh lime and tumeric. Absolutely refreshing in our humid climate.
