There’s been much talk about how to save our Earth from overheating. Aside from combating over-consumerism, it’s definitely worth talking about how brands can reduce their carbon footprint through sustainable practices.
Melissa shoes are made of biodegradable plastic, which will leave less of an imprint on our ailing planet. The best part? It’s waterproof, perfect for tropical climates like Singapore. Their SS 2016 Wanna be Carioca collection is clearly beach friendly, and takes inspiration from the culturally rich beaches of Rio de Janeiro. The collection features safe black staples, but also refreshing bursts of mandarin orange, pastel green and pink.
Known as a supporter of arts and culture, each new season sees Melissa tying up with renowned artists or fashion designers – and for SS 2016, they are collaborating with none other than Jason Wu, a Taiwanese Canadian designer based in NYC whose timeless, classy designs are dearly loved by Michelle Obama.
Melissa shoes are priced between SGD85 and SGD260 (with the exception of the J. Maskrey collection which retails up to SGD600). Mini Melissa shoes range from SGD85 to SGD95.
