Save the earth, one step at a time. Melissa’s sweet-smelling shoes are made of biodegradable plastic, so you won’t feel bad throwing out your old pair of kicks to make way for the new Melissa ‘We are Flowers’ SS 14 collection.

In a spontaneous collaboration with local talent MessyMsxi, Melissa treated shoppers to a day of colourful fun by reviving the Jurassic era at the MDreams (Singapore) store on January 25. The quirky “Dinosaurs in My Garden” theme was a hit with kids and adults alike, who made a beeline for the meticulously handpainted creations by MessyMsxi. For those who missed out, Melissa has provided stencils so shoppers can colour those adorable dinosaurs in themselves. Time to whip out those brushes!

‘We are Flowers’ collection reminds us of the days when flower power was all the rage. Having themed up with iconic designers such as Karl Lagerfeld and Jason Wu, playful hues of scarlet red, bottle blue and lush green adorning your feet will leave your feet happy and campy. Speaking of which, aside from the vivacious colour and design of the jelly beauties, the comfortable rubber soles (caveat: with the exception of a certain Ginga model) will provide you with that added sprightly bounce to your step.

Melissa Spikes

Local celebs such as Lavinia Tan, Yasminne Cheng and Oon Shu An were spoilt for choice at the MDreams boutique because there were just too many gorgeous designs. The plethora of options certainly didn’t help one of the celebs, as a little bird told us she walked away with 4 pairs of shoes despite having only a pair of feet! We support her move to help the economy ;) To save you some browsing, here are our choice picks to zero in on: The stylish Melissa Spikes II, the sweet Melissa Doris Special  and the ultra-comfortable Melissa Marilyn (the Black & Gold version unfortunately went out of stock in the store, but is still available online).
