It is not all about the glamour. Behind the scenes, designers work around the clock to ensure their collection hits nirvana before they release their works to the world. The zoom-in lenses of fashion photographers can be unforgiving if one’s collection is slipshod, but when we are talking about the best, the devil is in the details.
Models, who look like Greek gods and goddesses have to spend good hours walking the walk before they actually get selected for the bigger runways such as Fide Fashion Weeks, held once again at the colossal halls of Marina Bay Sands. 11 glorious days of fashion from 9 October 2013 to 19 October 2013 will surely leave you as happy as a sandboy.
We got to speak to Guo Pei, and boy were we surging with Asian pride. Guo Pei’s works speak for themselves — last year, the crowd greeted the end of her show with a standing ovation. This year, she is back again all ready to impress.
Alongside the wave of Asian designers are strong Western designers , such as Julien Fournie and Alexis Mabille, who are set to take the stage by storm. There’s a twist this year too, Love Bonito of blogshop fame is collaborating with French couturier Julien Fournie. It will be interesting to see what happens when ‘high-fashion’ meets ‘street-fashion’.
Timing-wise, shows are known to be ‘fashionably late’. But that’s ok, because organizers are aware and have all your needs catered: Think endless flow of champagne and entertainment to tide you over. What are you waiting for — Aarribaa, fashion week here we come!
