The local fashion scene has been restless for more details on October’s highly-anticipated Fashion Weeks ever since the initial announcement was put out a few months back. We bring you the exclusive straight from the Press Conference!

The biggest event of its kind to hit Marina Bay Sands, the ever-ambitious FIDé Fashion Weeks will happen over the course of a whopping 11 days, from 9-19 October 2013 and will include 40 runway shows. To top it off, the fashion extravaganza will feature two never-before-seen collaborations: The first with a number of international conglomerates in the fashion business, namely La Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture (France), the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and Bunka Fashion College (Japan) and the second between the blogshop Love, Bonito and French couturier Julian Fournié which will culminate in the release of an original collection (Never though you’d see that now, did you – a blogshop working with a couturier!).

Over the 11 days, there will be 5 Men’s Pret-a-Porter shows, 3 Japanese Couture Shows, 7 Asian Couture shows, 3 French Haute Couture shows, 4 Women’s Pret-a-Porter shows, and a special grand finale show to close the event with a bang.

No unveiling ceremony of the line-up is complete without a sneak peek at what’s to come from some of the international design houses – some of whom like Guo Pei, On Aura Tout Vu and Julian Fournié are returning to Singapore this year after their highly successful showings last year. The sneak peek also included home-grown godfather of couture, Frederick Lee.

“Exclusive” is a label synonymous with the world of fashion but wiith FIDé at the helm however, Frank Cintamani openly admits that FIDé “continues our journey to keep our fashion exclusive, but never to exclude“. With the line-up available at fidefashionweeks.com and tickets reasonably-prices at $20 for a show and $40 for a full-day pass, what’s not to look forward to this October?
