If you are a fashion ingenue who has recently graduated or graduated within 3 years and you are looking for an international platform to showcase your talent, look no further!
iD Fashion Week is an annual fashion event that showcases breathtakingly fresh works from carefully selected designers in an international competition judged by some of THE most prestigious industry names. iDFW has provided a platform for winners to launch their fashion careers and has been a stepping stone to the runways of Milan and New York. iDFW provides a great opportunity for budding fashion talents to network and collaborate with industry people and high profilers.
It is ‘a week of fun and glamour’ at New Zealand’s ‘underground fashion capital’ (read: unconventional and definitely not mainstream). It showcases the next ‘It’ designers at some of Dunedin’s most beautiful relic sites, definitely something to look forward to on your calendar if you are looking for something a little more different!
iD Fashion Week is in its 14th year running and has established itself as one of the most globally prestigious launching platforms for young designers. This year, it is being held at Dunedin’s historical Old Railway Station highlighting a whopping 110m long catwalk (one of the longest in the world!). This year features an international cast including celebrity milliner Stephen Jones from the UK (guest judge to this year’s competition), Yvonne Bennetti (luxury women’s designer), Tamsin Cooper for The Royal NZ Ballet, an international model line-up and a fashionable ménage of celebrated NZ designers. This year also spotlights 31 young designers from London College of Fashion, UK to RMIT, Australia to Shanghai University of Engineering, China. Prizes also include a $5000 first prize from Peroni!
We are really excited to be a part of this event and even more stoked to be able to share it with you! Singapore needs more fashion platforms to expand our networks in this globalizing world. iD Fashion Week is definitely something to keep our sights on!
