One of the hottest names to emerge from the fashion world, stylist Brad Goreski has a reality TV show and is now Kate Spade’s exclusive brand stylist!
Brad Goreski is one style star on the rise: he famously broke off from stylist/designer Rachel Zoe and has now set up his own firm plus his reality show It’s a Brad, Brad World debuted on Bravo. Now, add Kate Spade to the list.
Yup, apparently Brad’s styling gig at Kate Spade’s Spring/Summer 12 show was so good that the label has now hired him as “exclusive brand stylist”. He is in charge of styling all press events, fashion presentations, ad campaigns and online commerce shoots. Granted, this is a brilliant time for Kate Spade to focus on breaking out of the bags and accessories image the label is most known for.
Brad’s reaction to the news: “We see so many people carrying the bags and the accessories. It’s my hope to get the ready-to-wear out there and see it more on the streets and see people playing with it and making it their own.”
Kate Spade director Deborah Lloyd explained why Brad was hired: “I have been a fan of Brad’s sense of style and spirit from afar for some time now. When I began to consider a stylist with whom I could really build an ongoing relationship and one whom I trusted, he was the first that came to mind. Besides being a great stylist, he is a joy to be around and a true gentleman. He keeps me laughing and keeps me on my toes.”
This sounds like a dream pairing for Brad & the label and one that might go on for quite some time. Brad’s strong suit is indeed cheery ready-to-wear offerings, so it will be interesting to see how he fares styling for autumn/winter wear come New York Fashion Week from Feb 9-16.
Brad will also help Kate Spade in social media efforts, which should be a piece of cake for a man that has more than 130,000 followers on Twitter. Sounds like DKNY’s PR girl Aliza Licht is going to have some maaaaaaajor competition now.
