The Surreal Gourmet: Celeb Chef Bob Blumer To Come To Singapore

You heard us right. Known for travelling around the United States in a shiny portable kitchen shaped in the form of a giant toaster, Bob Blumer (remember his ingenious food tricks in The Surreal Gourmet?) is coming to Singapore.

He will be appearing at the first ever TLC Festival in Singapore, at The Meadow at Gardens By The Bay. Other culinary talents set to appear and mingle with the crowd include Jock Zonfrillo and Erwan Heussaff.

Blumer is also known for TV shows such as Glutton For Punishment and World’s Weirdest Restaurants. Although the cook has never worked as a chef in a professional setting, his mastery of the craft and passion for food transcends terminology.

He also has seven Guinness World Records under his belt, most notably for making the most number of pizzas (168 pizzas in 60 minutes), peeling onions in the fastest time (50 pounds of onions in two minutes and 39 seconds) and removing the most number of individual grains of rice from a bowl with chopsticks (134 grains in three minutes).

Jock and Erwan will duel off in a food truck challenge, among other activities like an eating competition, outdoor yoga by Denise Keller and musical performances by artiste Inch Chua. Premieres of new TLC shows will also be shown.

The TLC Festival is set to travel to Malaysia and Philippines this November.
