DJ Andrew Teo has been making headlines lately. From organizing home-grown Legacy Festival happening at Sentosa from 6 to 7 December 2019 with Tiesto and Don Diablo, to taking over idyllic beachfront setting FOC Sentosa this Saturday with trance sensation Aly & Fila, the veteran DJ shares with us his aspirations for his 8 year old artiste management and event company, AOS Collective.
Popspoken: What are the top 3 defining traits of an AOS Collective DJ?
DJ Andrew Teo: Professional, hard working and always current.
Popspoken: How did the AOS Collective get formed?
DJ Andrew Teo: It was formed to get the best DJs and MCs together, and to be able to do parties & events neutrally at any venue in Singapore and around the world. We are working on bigger and more exciting events, just follow us on our socials to be updated.
Popspoken: Why did you choose Aly & Fila to be the headliner for La Playa?
DJ Andrew Teo: We had many meetings & discussions with the FOC team and we had to start of this party series with a bang. Aly & Fila have always been celebrated here and are widely popular, so we figured it would be ideal to kick off the La Playa (meaning “The Beach”) series with them.
Popspoken: How do you balance family, friends and work?
DJ Andrew Teo: I have since cut down my playing time, focusing more on creating events and festivals, such as La Playa happening next week. My tip is to always keep improving, working hard, and stay humble, things can and go very quickly in this industry, but if you are professional and honest, and know how to market yourself and be current, you’ll be alright.
La Playa: Aly & Fila is happening on 26 October 2019 from 2pm onwards and is supported by local DJs, Fred E and Shigeki, as well as Jochen Miller hailing from Netherlands and Michael Vagas from Indonesia. General admission tickets are priced at $48 and include one housepour.
