Thankfully, this is not an April Fool’s joke: Coldplay will be coming to Singapore after confirming their Asian tour dates Tuesday morning amid much rumours.
The band, fronted by Chris Martin, will be bringing their A Head Full Of Dreams tour (on Twitter as #AHFODtour) to Singapore on April 1 at the National Stadium, via promoter Live Nation.
Singapore’s branch of Live Nation is headed together with promoters Lushington.
The rumours came to light Monday when Coldplay dropped a video of Asian tour destinations on their various social media channels, listing Singapore as a tour destination alongside other countries such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines.
The band’s website says that tickets for Singapore will be out November 21. Promoters Lushington have confirmed that tickets will go on sale to the public at 10am, with tickets going from $78 to $268. Standing tickets are at $128 and $228.
More information on tickets can be found on the Lushington website.
It is a sweet arrival for the band, who last performed their Viva La Vida tour here at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in 2009. The band had missed Singapore as a stop for their subsequent Mylo Xyloto and Ghost Stories tours, so it’s a great time to be a Coldplay fan in Singapore now as the band finally makes it way here.
