Heads up, music festival fans – we might have just seen the best festival line-up since St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2016.
Held just a short distance across the causeway, Malaysia’s Good Vibes Festival is making waves for all the good reasons. The two-day event will feature the likes of indie-rock heartthrobs The 1975, indie-dance band Two Door Cinema Club as well as Australian indie stalwarts The Temper Trap at new venue The Ranch @ Gohtong Jaya, Genting Highlands on August 12 & 13!
Other acts included include the brilliant Laneway Festival alumnus Purity Ring, ambient beatsmith Ta-Ku, and electronic indie DJ Ryan Hemsworth.
Yesterday, in an announcement on Facebook, Good Vibes Festival added UK house stalwarts Disclosure, post-punk revival outfit Tokyo Police Club, “Uptown Funk” producer Mark Ronson, and indie folk duo Angus & Julia Stone to the already very hectic line-up.
Good Vibes Festival will also play host to stalwarts in the Malaysian scene, such as Kyoto Protocol, Enterprise, Froya, Juno & Hana and +2B, as well as up-and-comers such as Sevencollar T-shirt, Toko Kilat, The Fridays, Dangerdisko, and Jhin.
As listed on the Good Vibes website, Singaporeans can travel to Gohtong Jaya in various ways by coach, ranging from Transtar Coach Solitaire, WTS Travel, The One Travel, 707 INC, KKKL Express, and Konsortium express.
Alternatively, Singaporeans can take the Aerobus from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KILA), the KILA Express Rail Link to Resorts World Genting, or by taxi.
Tickets are priced at RM 955 (SGD $317) for two-day passes for two people (Inclusive of two nights stay at Hotel PKG), and RM 350 (SGD $116.50) for two-day passes. Tickets can be purchased at http://boxtix.asia.
