This year’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) were filled with many lasting, memorable, and GIF-able moments that would be around for quite some time. We’ve got Justin Bieber getting all emotional on stage, to Taylor Swift‘s dance moves and even Kanye West‘s announcement for his presidential campaign in 2020! #Kanye2020?
MILEY CYRUS, HOST OF THE 2015 MTV VMAs!
Miley Cyrus sure did bring that extra element to the whole VMAs this year as the host. What’s more amazing is that she dropped her new album, “Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz” for FREE at the end of the night! Listen to it on Soundcloud here.
TAYLOR SWIFT & NICKI MANAJ HUGGING IT OUT AT THE VMAs!
Aww. Isn’t it beautiful? After falling out over Twitter back when the VMA nominations were out, Taylor & Nicki made up with a medley of “Trini Dem Girls” and “The Night Is Still Young“.
TAYLOR SWIFT LOOKS LIKE SHE’S HAVING A BRILLIANT TIME AT THE VMAs!
No one can stop Taylor Swift from having an amazing time! Dance away, Taylor! You go girl!
OH NO. DON’T CRY JUSTIN!
Justin Bieber officially returned to music with his performance of “Where Are Ü Now” and new single “What Do You Mean”, with him floating towards the ceiling, showing off his falsettos and dance moves. By the end of the performance, Bieber was all emotional, hunched over his knees – and sobbing!
TORI KELLY KILLED IT!
Tori Kelly slayed her performance with her hit single “Shouldn’t Been Us”. She’s really one to watch. Expect great things from this rising star!
HOW CAN WE FORGET MR KANYE WEST!
Kanye West’s expressions throughout the night were unlike his usual deadpan self, with the rapper visibly more excited and amused. After accepting the Video Vanguard award from Taylor Swift (whom he upstaged 6 years ago on this very stage), and a long speech where he decried the idea of awards shows (“I still don’t understand awards shows”), Kanye capped off the crazy night by… announcing that he would be running for President in 2020!
It’s still unclear if Kanye was only joking, but if #Kanye2020 happens, we might just see some “Imma let you finish…” interruptions during the presidential debates. Now wouldn’t that be a spectacle.
