*SCAPE is proving once again that it’s not just “the building behind Cineleisure”. Starting Wednesday, 22nd April, the *SCAPE Invasion Tour will begin its 32-stop run; visiting various Secondary Schools, Junior Colleges, and Institutes of Higher Learning!
The tour aims to promote our very own music scene among Singaporean youth… and what better way than to invite the artists themselves to give a special performance!
The “School Invasion Tour” originally ran from 2007 to 2012, and will be revived this year featuring headliners The Sam Willows, ShiGGa Shay, Gentle Bones, THELIONCITYBOY, and Michaela Therese! If that’s overwhelming, catch a quick breath because the stellar lineup also features supporting acts Nathan Hartono, Stopgap, Daphne Khoo, Gareth Fernandez, HubbaBubbas, and more!
Kicking off at Bishan Park Secondary School, the hour-long programme will be hosted by Gerald Koh and Joakim Gomez of 987fm (the whole music kampong‘s involved), with a special segment (okay it’s says “educational talk” here on the schedule but it’s only ten minutes…) by DJ Vanessa Fernandez of LUSH and 987fm!
The Tour will be split into two legs, April to May and July to November, to coincide with school terms. At least 10 schools have confirmed their participation in the first leg, including CHIJ Katong Convent and Yishun Junior College! In conjunction with *SCAPE’s (and everyone else’s) SG50 celebrations, a mega *SCAPE Invasion concert is also planned for August to celebrate local music.
Now here’s the fun part: here’s how YOU can nominate YOUR school/institution for the tour, and bring Singapore’s hottest musicians right to your hall/auditorium(/theatre if you’re really #blessed)! Just head on over to their official website and send in your nomination form here! You can even choose which acts you would prefer to see, but that’s just optional.
