While we wait in anticipation for drag queen Adore Delano (American Idol alumni Danny Noreiga outside of drag) to perform for the first time in Singapore this Saturday, there definitely is much more to expect from the chart-topping, RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni.

Among this, is news of a new album. Adore revealed this in an interview with The Huffington Post and said the release date is “probably the same time this one came out last year”, referring to her album Till Death Do Us Party which dropped June 3, 2014.

The album made Adore the highest-selling artist of any RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant, peaking at #3 on the Billboard US Dance/Electronics Album Chart, #11 on the US Indie Album Chart and landing in the top 60 of the Billboard 200.

Adore, who is the Drag Race alumnus with the highest combined social media following (we counted 663,000!), confirmed the return of Ashley Levy as co-writer — she co-wrote the entire Till Death Do Us Party album with Adore.

Among other news is the confirmation of singlehood, after separating from Australian boyfriend Kristian Francuski:

He lives in Australia. When you get in a relationship like that that is long distance, it is really fucking hard. I am on the road.

While they both remain great friends, there is one thing Adore will not break up with: her relationship with punk. The rebellious and passionate attitude is all over social media, and it has led her to pouring her heart out on many issues. One of them was when her drag looks were criticised by fellow queens Delta Work and Raja on a web series.

“I respect (the drag queens in the web series video) so much, so it hurt my feelings,” Adore said to HuffPo, although her post on Facebook claimed otherwise. And in another interview with SF Weekly, Adore says her version of punk drag is putting the finger up to the conventional style of looking pretty to be a drag queen:

And if I want to throw a t-shirt on and sing my fucking heart out, that’s still considered drag to me. You don’t have to be plucked and tucked and look gorgeous like a model, because that’s not realistic, is it?

It is precisely this sort of aesthetic and “realness” (to borrow off drag lexicon) that has endeared Adore to thousands of fans around the world. We say: be real, do you.
