The folks at Sunshine Nation know how to throw a good party. This much, we know.
Having been to their quirky, eclectic brand of parties at Butter Factory, we did not expect anything less than a sold-out gig for their 2nd anniversary bash, which featured none other than Swedish talent, Klingande.
Despite having toured internationally, Klingande looks back and thinks “I am still the same – just my life changed, previously I was a student, now I travel the world.. I love my life now.” If not for the fact he shot to fame with his two tracks, “Jubel” and “Punga”, his creative genes would manifest in starting a music label or having a marketing-related job.
Unlike some self-professed superstars, Klingande embraces his fame but does neglect his fans that have supported him through his journey to DJ stardom – “I don’t want to be a DJ that goes – I’m going to the club, and now I’m leaving. The least I can do is speak with my fans.” No wonder his fans adore him. In fact, he shares that one of craziest things a fan has done was to tattoo his name on themselves.
Delving deeper into his music-making psyche, we learned that his inspiration is derived from pop music, and jazz beats. Or just being near the sea sea, as “there are lots of inspiration in a good place”. If he could choose one person to collaborate with, he responded “Flume” without any hesitation. This drive to create, is exemplified in his choice of spirit animal, which happens to be Taurus (bull) – known to be determined and hardworking. Our guess is this lad will go far.
