Popspoken has been the go-to place for all the happening music festivals in Singapore and abroad: from the red dot’s ZoukOut to the bevy of music festivals in Malaysia and Indonesia, we have brought you to kickass festivals we think should be on your radar.

This time, Popspoken says Mabuhay to the Philippines for a truly unique music festival combining international and local artists, bands and DJs.

From February 22 to 23, the Global Gateway Logistics City near Clark Base outside of Manila will be transformed into a hub of awesome music. The 7107 International Music Festival will play host to some of the world’s most beloved and influential acts which are bound to get you rockin’ all day long.

Take headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers (“RHCP“). The rock stalwart is set to fire up 7107 with their brand of classics and new tunes. Having been placed in the top 30 live acts in the world by Rolling Stone, the band is in the midst of recording their eleventh studio album. We’re not expecting any less from these funk rock giants, with smash tunes like Dani California, By The Way and Californication. We are also expecting tunes from their 2011 critically-lauded album I’m With You, which made it onto our top albums list of 2011 (hey!).

Joining RHCP are acts such as Empire Of The Sun, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Radioactive Sago Project. 7107 (named so following the number of Philippine archipelagos out there) is slated to attract more than 20,000 concertgoers and will feature other acts such as Yolanda Moon, Encounters With A Yeti and Hidden Nikki.

Other highlights of this two-day festival include art installations, food and liquor vendors as well as complimentary shuttle service from participating hotels. And yes, minors can attend 7107! (Alcohol will not be served to them, though.)

With more acts scheduled to be announced, 7107 looks set to be Philippines’ most happening music festival in a while. Plus, part of the monetary proceeds will be used to aid projects in helping victims of Typhoon Yolanda — a worthy cause to contribute to, indeed.

2-day general admission pass at SGD284 (PHP10,000). 2-day VIP pass at SGD709 (PHP25,000). Tickets are available on the 7107 IMF website.

(Psst: Sing up as a group of 10 and get a 15% discount off the ticket price! We hear 7107’s Twitter account is teeming with festival-goers looking for others to join in their group of 10. Nothing like making new friends, no? The promo code is group7107. Hurry though, the promo won’t last long!)
