Lenka is no stranger to the entertainment industry, having begun her career as an actress in the 90s. Since then, the Australian singer-songwriter has enjoyed much success and will be presenting a showcase at Esplanade Theatres on 26 November 2013. We speak to her to find out more about her inner psyche and where she draws her inspiration from.

Popspoken (‘PS’): Tell us about the most memorable thing a fan has done for you.
Lenka: I suppose the tattoos are pretty memorable. Sometimes they are a bit weird to see though! I got a hand-beaded bracelette from a girl, that was pretty amazing.
PS: How do you manage your singing career and taking care of Quinn at the same time?
Lenka: Lots of logistical planning! And a support crew of family and babysitters.
PS: Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Lenka: From my own inner world of imagination and emotions, as well as nature and nursery rhymes.
PS: Tell us more about your acting career – any plans for that in the near future?
Lenka: I am starting to audition for things again so perhaps yes!
PS: What’s your greatest weakness?
Lenka: Gossip blogs!
PS: If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
Lenka: I would remove the capacity for greed from the human psyche.
PS: Who would you resurrect from the dead if you had a chance?
Lenka: John Lennon.
