30 Seconds To Mars have unveiled the video for their current single ‘Up In The Air‘ which is featured in their newest album, Love Lust Faith + Dreams. It was written and recorded in various locations from around the world, from California to India. Their music is perfectly paired with Damien Hirst’s works as its “It’s alive with lush colors.. It’s vibrant and full of energy.”

The album was co-produced by the band’s frontman Jared Leto alongside Steve Lillywhite.  Notably, the album art features one of the  iconic spot paintings (‘Isonicotinic Acid Ethyl Ester’) by renowned artist of the 21s Century, Damien Hirst. Hirst’s most controversial art work is the preservation of a tiger shark in formaldehyde titled “The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living”.

“Up in The Air” featuring burlesque artist Dita Von Teese is a schizophrenic music video with elements of post-modernism. Dita,  the former wife of Marilyn Manson, rides a pink mechanical bull in the video, alongside a lion, snakes, zebras, gymnasts Jordyn Wieber and McKayla Maroney, writer Neil Strauss, bursts of colour, a fencing match, spot artwork by Damien Hirst and a shirtless Jared Leto.

Sounds absurd? Totally – but the band nailed it. Indeed, Leto adds that this album “is more than an evolution, it’s a brand new beginning. Creatively, we’ve gone to an entirely new place, which is exciting, unexpected, and incredibly inspiring.
