Carly Rae Jepsen Has Fallen In Love With Singapore

American sweetheart Carly Rae Jepsen rocked the stage to a massive crowd at Gardens By The Bay in Singapore last night. She joined the likes of Blush, Psy and Cee Lo Green for the first day of the double date spectacle that was the social star count concerts.

Carly’s stage set was simple, but effective- with screens projecting her face enabling those stuck at the back a good viewpoint from all around the venue. The sound quality was fantastic (at least from the front of the stage) with the front row people being able to feel the bass vibrate as it pounded out from the speakers.

Her set was much longer than anticipated, crowd favorites were well known hits like “Call Me Maybe” and “Good TIme.” During the show, Carly debuted a new song and asked her fans to tweet her with pictures from the show saying that she’d retweet them if she got the chance. What a great incentive to generate buzz about the song, huh?

Her voice was crystal clear, and although slightly whiney at times (especially with the auto tune affected microphone she picked up from time to time) she came across as comfortable and confident on stage- moving around a lot and often reaching into the crowd to sign autographs or receive gifts.

All in all, it was a really great show. Carly came on promptly and played for around 45 minutes. She has a lot more material than one would expect, and some of it is actually very good. If you get the chance to go and see Carly in concert- do! She’s very entertaining, and certainly makes sure that the audience has a good time.
