This is it: Demi Lovato is making her first concert appearance in Singapore! The spunky lass will be performing in a one-night-only concert, “A Special Night With Demi Lovato” on March 18 at The Coliseum at Hard Rock Hotel in Resorts World Sentosa. The concert is co-organised by MediaCorp VizPro.
Demi’s arrival comes on the heels of her wrapping up production for the music video for lead single Heart Attack, off her as-yet-unnamed fourth studio album. Besides tweeting pictures off the set and being photographed with her hands coated in black paint (ooh), the singer also sported a new bob haircut (above) which she took a photo of and tweeted out.
She made a phone call into Singapore radio station 987 earlier this March, where she confirmed reports that her album is coming out in May. Demi also took the time to lavish compliments on Singapore — like any visiting artiste does. “I hear that it’s beautiful. I hear that my fans are amazing… I can’t wait to get down there,” said Demi to 987 DJ Justin Ang.
Lovatics will be excited to know that she just wrapped up recording for fourth studio album. (She called in to 987 from the recording studio — what a hardworking lass.) “I actually finished my last song for the album a few hours ago,” enthused Demi.
Demi called single Heart Attack as “one of the best songs that could be a single”. Guess it was so good that it leaked on February 25 online, causing her team to push the release date one week ahead before its supposed March 4 premiere.
It’s no wonder that she was quite skint with any information on the 987 interview, knowing how leaks are all too common in the blogosphere. (Heh.) No details whatsoever about stuff in her album, whether she is performing any new material in the concert here, or if she is indeed going back to reality singing competition X Factor USA.
She would only acknowledge Simon Cowell’s compliment on her judging abilities, replying: “That’s a huge compliment and I love Simon.” Since we know auditions for X Factor’s third season were scheduled to begin March 6, Demi’s coy attitude towards this bit of info is telling, if we do say so ourselves.
Yahoo! Singapore revealed that Demi is likely to perform Heart Attack with hits such as Skyscraper and Give Your Heart A Break. “They can expect a lot of my songs. There’s going to be a lot of dancing and jumping up and down… a lot of music,” Demi explained.
Demi definitely is coming into Singapore with much anticipation over her new sound and look. Judging by how she has courageously bounced back from bipolar disorder and bulimia, we’re pretty sure she can live up to the hype!
