Irish rock band “The Script” took to Singapore for a one night only show, their biggest in Singapore yet. The night started out with opening band “The Unxpected” who were completely wrong for the crowd of the night. This isn’t to say that the band is untalented- their music and energy was simply unsuited to the die hard energetic fans of the band in the limelight. After a short set from them, it was time for The Script to take the stage.
They burst on with “Good Old Days” and the lead singer Danny was instantly infatuated with the crazy Singaporean crowd, it was clear from the look of awe on his face that he was having the time of his life. Their set was of a good length, and was full of upbeat hits contrasted with newer songs from their album “#3” to keep the audience on their toes for the entire night. One thing to be noted, is that the band has a lot of energy. They were running all over the stadium (even through the upper stalls at one point!) while maintaining their perfect vocals or whatever instrument they had chosen to play.
Obviously, the guys of The Script are extremely talented. They certainly didn’t need the bells and whistles of a full fledged production to help them put on a fantastic show. All they needed was a great crowd, and their raw talent. Both of which were in abundance last night. Singapore had a fantastic time, as did the boys of The Script- as they kept saying just how much they enjoyed spending time with the (roughly) 5,000 people in attendance.
All in all, it really was a spectacular show. The Script has a great repertoire of hits you can dance, cry, and even laugh to. The energy in the room was electric, with fans screaming solidly all the way through. If you ever get the chance- you simply must go and catch The Script live.
