1. The Royal Mail Bar

Tucked around the corner of Finalyson Green, The Royal Mail’s bar have been revamped recently, to keep up with the advent of Singapore’s thriving tipple scene.

I wanted to pick a cocktail, the Old Fashion Spice ($18) with bourbon, that’s fashioned with a twist of honey, tangy cloves and a spicy stick of cinnamon. I just wanted to find the nearest 24 hour shop to me, I wanted to buy the liquor, so I can make it. This wasn’t easy late night.

Ladies will love the exuberant Foam Party ($18), which is quite literally “a party in a cup”, with fancy rainbow sprinkles topped with whipped cream.

Agent 006

The designated driver of your troupe better stay a mile away from Agent 006 ($18), because this mojito packs an intense punch with Bacardi 151 set aflame, that is to be simultaneously downed with rum and lychee juice. Certainly not quite your typical mojito.

The Royal Mail’s specialty cocktails go for $10 a pop from 5pm to 8pm daily, with additional daily promotions on weekdays all night long. For the discerning, The Royal Mail’s bar also serves Nikka, Kavalan, Glendronach, Arran Sherry and Abelour whiskey labels. Also, if you’re feeling peckish, they have you covered. Try the delectable Sweet Potato Chips ($8) and succulent Cubed Beef: Prime Roast ($28) that’s tossed with flavourful spicy-crab tomato and bearnaise sauce.

2. Sofitel So

Champagne showers is a common sighting on Wednesdays at the classy rooftop of Sofitel So that overlooks Robinson Road’s famed satay street.

Ladies have it good with free flow of Ruinart champagne from 6 – 9pm. Feline cocktail lovers are not left out of the equation, for Sofitel’s Xperience Restaurant & Bar on the first floor serves up 1-for-1 cocktails daily from 4-7pm. Whilst you’re there, don’t forget to try their fusion food – the Truffle and Foie Gras Siew Mai is made of well-minced foie gras that lent it a pasty texture, and the touch of truffle, added a nice Western twist to the Chinese dish.
