Line your stomach with food, and sip on cocktails, at La Maison Cointreau’s food pairing sessions. To kickstart the fun, TESS Bar & Kitchen was the gracious host on 1 October 2014, and opened their bar to guest bartenders  Alex Tan (Manor Cocktail Bar) and Mike Cheong (WOOBAR). They shook up the night with an exclusive food-cum-drink pairing menu, specially pieced together with TESS Bar & Kitchen’s Head Chef Martin Wong (alumnus of L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon).

The night was indeed a boisterous one as the 60-seater was filled to twice its capacity. Thankfully, there was plenty of Cointreau to go around, and the 120 guests were kept happy with the 4 special food-and-beverage concoctions (priced at $23++) throughout the night. A noteworthy cocktail was the Sweet Passion, comprising of smooth Bruichladdich Scottish Barley, Cointreau shaken with egg white and lemon juice, passion fruit and basil, that gave rise to a complex yet multi-faceted note that lingered on the tongue.

“La Maison Cointreau was first introduced to inspire mixologists to push their creative boundaries and explore limitless cocktail variations with Cointreau, the heart of cocktails,” said Elisabeth Tona, Regional Marketing Director of Rémy Cointreau South East Asia, Middle East and India.

Soon to come, La Maison Cointreau will take over the hottest cocktail bars in Singapore.
