What You Missed at JCube’s Launch

The “Far East Plaza” generation has come and gone, with the youths of of today constantly glued to their handphone screens, and less fixated by bubble tea or people-watching. Malls these days, are vying for attention of the young and old alike, and what better way than to make a mall social-media friendly.

Journey to the West, where JCube is fast becoming a game-changer in terms of youth engagement via social media.

Well, it appears that they are fuelling the selfie mania by creating a J.Avenue Social Wall, the brain child of CapitaLand Labs, a creative arm of CapitaMall. Spanning 4×3 metres, simply hashtag #JAvenueSG on your instagram photo to get your photos instantly printed.

Having caught on to the 3D-optical illusion craze, JCube also features spots where shoppers can take portraits of themselves alongside the 3D paintings.

At the opening, social media stars were present to lend some power. Among others, bloggers Eunice Annabel, Willabelle Ong (Pale Division), Naomi Neo and Xavier Ong, plus YouTube sensation Tan Jian Hao were there to mingle with fans.

To celebrate their opening, shoppers are also welcome to tinker with a J.Avenue Flipbook for a minimum of $70 spent (combination of 3 same-day receipts) from now till 26 October 2014. The flip book comprises of 60-pages that displays a series of actions, which when flipped, is 15 seconds long and when flipped quickly, looks like someone is in motion.
