Join the Hunt for the Most ImaGINative Cocktail with Bombay Sapphire

Bombay Sapphire‘s iconic sapphire-coloured bottle is no stranger to gin-lovers. And who can forget their first time having Bombay Sapphire in the club, watching the glass glow in semi-darkness? Since its creation, Bombay Sapphire has taken an imaginative approach to gin making. By sourcing for 10 different botanicals from ten exotic locations around the world, these ingredients are fused with the brand’s Vapour Infusion process which resulted in the first premium gin that is now a household name. Introduced last year, the lighter Bombay Sapphire East version will has added 2 new botanicals, namely Thai lemongrass and Vietnamese black peppercorns to its existing ten. The new blend is slightly musky and was designed to counteract the sweetness of American tonic water and is now a favourite to use in the creation of new cocktails or to be used on its own.

What better way to launch its latest campaign than with a cocktail hunt ending with a big party? Kicking off the new campaign set to “Captivate Imagination” was the Media Event held on 6 August 2014 at the equally spanking new CANVAS Singapore (formally Home Club) at 20 Upper Circular Road. Invited guests were treated to a gin cocktail demonstration, a lesson on the difference between Bombay Sapphire Original and Bombay Sapphire East, followed by an interactive session where guests were taught how to mix two cocktails – a martini-like cocktail with Yuzu jam and grapefruit juice and the classic Gin & Tonic. The Yuzu-flavoured cocktail was a refreshing and a crowd favourite but wait, the G&T showed why it was a classic across the years. Brand Ambassador & Mixologist Caryn Cheah demonstrated how to make the perfect G&T – from stirring ice cubes to chill the glass to drizzling the tonic water down the stem of the stirring spoon for the perfect method to introduce the tonic to the gin – and hers was the perfect balance. If only we could say the same for ours…. Oh well, we’ll stick to the drinking.
