With slightly more than a month to go till the 4th instalment of Future Music Festival Asia 2014 (“FMFA 2014“) hits Kuala Lumpur, you really should head down here to purchase your tickets if you haven’t already done so! Here at Popspoken, we’ve managed to catch Iqbal Ameer and Rahul Kukreja from Livescape Asia Team (the ones who brought the Future Music Festival to Asia) to give you 10 juicy insights into FMFA 2014 that you were dying to know but never knew.. till now :)
1. FMFA 2014 IS NOW AT A NEW LOCATION
Okay, so anyone following FMFA 2014 close enough would’ve known this by now. But yes! To accommodate up to 85,000 festival-goers, FMFA 2014 has moved to a bigger location at Bukit Jalil National Stadium! Besides being nearer to the city centre, Popspoken has learnt that the Malaysian Tourism Board were so supportive that they allowed the sale of alcohol in the stadium (which ordinarily, is not allowed) just for the three day festival. Bring on the booze and space for all you party animals!
2. THE LINEUP
Yes we see you over there, rolling your eyes. Any fan of FMFA 2014 would know the stellar line up of artistes by now. But we’ve just got to re-hash it the epic fete again that’ll leave you star struck!

3. MALAYSIA IS THE ONLY ASIAN INSTALLMENT OF FMF
You might have heard of Future Music Festival in Australia, but Malaysia is the only country in Asia to host FMF! Sharing the same Safari theme as its parent counterpart, Bukit Jalil National Stadium is as close as it gets to those in the +65 wanting to experience a full fledged festival comparable to those held in the US and parts of Europe.
4. THE LIVESCAPE TEAM
The geniuses in the Livescape Asia Team credited for bringing FMF to Asia believe in understanding the different types of people they cater to. Having such young co-founders (Iqbal, Rahul and another), they are able to accurately identify with what makes the crowd go wild. The combination of main stage artistes lineups, catering to different genres and NEVER EVER forgetting your Asian roots (Yes, we love you Goldfish & Blink!) gets you a winning formula with the crowds.
5. THE MERCH
FMFA 2014’s merchandise is a proud collaboration between FMFA x Zalora! We’ve gotten a peek at the Crew shirts and we can’t wait to bring back our own piece of FMFA back home!
6. THE FERRIS WHEEL
Yes, the ferris wheel makes its comeback. “It’s an iconic part of FMFA”, says Iqbal.
7. ARMIN LIKED FMFA 2013 SO MUCH HE WANTED TO COME BACK
Besides Miami, KL would be the only city in the world to host ASOT for two years running! Somebody say GOD OF TRANCEEEEE.
8. FMFA 2014 CATERS TO THE MASSES
Bukit Jalil’s LRT Station will extend its operation hours on March 13-15 to alleviate traffic congestion.
9. SINGLE DAY PASSES ARE AVAILABLE
Bummed that you just can’t take two days of leave for Thursday and Friday? Not to worry, FMFA also provides the option of single day passes for either 13, 14 or 15 2014 to ensure that you don’t miss out on the entire festival!
10. RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE
Bring out those leopard prints, war and neon face paints, feather boas and grass skirts! Everyone will be monkeying around to none other than Martin Garrix’s “Animals”, which is sure to be one of the anthems for a safari themed festival. WOO-HA!
