Bringing you bi-monthly pop-up parties at novel locations is Midnight Productions, a newly created event company that hopes to revolutionize the Singapore party scene.
They held their debut party at the Red Dot Design Museum on the eve of National Day. Spinning the night away were class acts such as DJ Amy van de Beuken, DJ Freshade (Butter Factory), The Professor (Stereolab) and DJ Alvin Tham (Alley Bar), who got the crowd grooving on their feet. At the stroke of midnight, party-goers were treated to 800 surprise ‘Midnight Mayhem’ shots that were specially concocted for the event.
Their first instalment was extremely successful! All 20 VIP tables that were going at $1488 each (inclusive of a 10 pax guestlist, 1 bottle of premium alcohol, 2 bottles of housepour and 1 bottle of champagne) were all snapped up. Early bird tickets were going at $28 and tickets at the door cost $48 (both inclusive of 1 free drink). The organizers generously gave out bottles of champagne to lucky winners who liked and shared an image on Facebook.
I was particularly mesmerized by the transformation of an empty space into a place full of exciting throbbing lights. The random warning signs stuck all over the venue contributed to a truly underground feel. What I appreciated most was that whilst the place was adequately packed, it was not a sweat-fest typical of overcrowded clubs.
For those who missed out on the awesome party, fret not. Their next event is slated to be held in 2 months time at a secret location, keep your eyes peeled on their facebook page /site and prepare to have a raving good time then!
