You’ve seen last year’s Getai Electronica, chicly held at the rooftop of People’s Park Complex at Chinatown, where fans quickly fell in love with the casual, well-planned mini-festival. This year, the Getai Group is back to present… Getai Soul 2016.
Featuring Singapore’s hottest acts, local headliners like Charlie Lim and his band The Mothership, Vandetta, The Steve McQueens, Dru Chen, Tim De Cotta & The Warriors will be sharing the yet-to-be-announced stage venue with regional artists Najwa (KL), Barry Likumahuwa (JKT), and Za Feedo (JPN).
The two-day event will be held on the weekend of 20 – 21 February 2016 (also the 13th and 14th days of the Lunar New Year celebrations). Ticket prices and location are still a secret, but you’ll know when we do. :)
The organisers did drop a pretty big clue on their Facebook page, though. (We bet our money it’s Botanic Gardens)
While we wait for further details, familiarise yourself with the artists of Getai Soul 2016!
About the organisers: “Getai Group (GG) is a creative arts curation agency and platform that consults, creates, collaborates and successfully implements events to bring different communities together. GG has been known for championing local original content that has been showcased at all our Getai events; Getai Electronica, Getai Ethnica, Getai Holidays, Getai Mash+Ups and many others.”
“We strongly believe that the progression of our society lies heavily in the people’s embracing of arts and culture that is unique to them, while broadening their horizons beyond our borders. We aim to invite the necessary conversation and contemplation that all art forms bring to a progressive and confident society.”
“Getai Group was co-founded by Timothy De Cotta, Lionel Ang, and Carmen Low in 2015 with the sole vision of pushing the local arts scene in Singapore to greater heights, while opening her to the rest of the world through arts and cultural exploration and exchange.”
