Here Are The Good-Lookers and Fails Of Star Awards 2013: #SA2013
Yes y’all, it’s Singapore’s like-Oscar Awards and pretty much the only star-struck red carpet 99% of Singapore’s motley collection of thespians will ever get to kiss and tread. That being said, we have extremely high expectations for the red carpet cast and we don’t expect that they will disappoint (or not).

Are You, Like, Juicy Enough For Juicy Couture?
We love what LeAnn Nealz has done with Juicy Couture’s fashion sense. She’s like the cooler, more sophisticated older sister you never had that stepped in when you were a toddler trying on your first Paris Hilton look and went ‘NAHT’.
Bryanboy Was In Singapore And This B*tch Didn’t Know
Remind me once again to get back my social life. Apparently, Bryanboy was in Singapore for a short two-day period beginning April 31 to have a lil’ fun in the sunny island. (We did not hear of any press events happening for him while he is here — or we just don’t know about it … Read more

In Conversation with Princess Tata at TheFashionHeadlines.com launch
Carefully curated wares are the highlight of the web store TheFashionHeadlines.com, co-founded by Evon Tan and Fia Sirikanya S. While we are familiar with big names like ASOS.com or Shopbop.com bringing you renowned labels such as Antipodium, FCUK and Karen Millen, little mention is given to our homegrown gems such as Mystic Vintage eyewear, Al&Alicia, By Invite Only and ARC. TheFashionHeadlines fills in this fashion lacunae.
Singapore’s Got Talent: May Lin Le Goff
May Lin Le Goff is no stranger to the fashion industry. This Singaporean lass now based in New York has big dreams. Guo Pei Takes Asian Pride to the Next Level
Haute couture luminary, Guo Pei, needs no further introduction. Singapore has struck jackpot with as we managed to come close to her works twice on our tiny red dot this year; the “Ci” collection at Digital Fashion Week, and most recently, her “Legend of the Dragon” collection at Fide Fashion Week. Guo Pei’s collection is synonymous with art as her fashion pieces feature ground-breaking structure and resplendent finishings enshrouds the audience in oriental mysticism.

If you have not heard of the Tumblr blog “What The Fuck You Wearing Today?“, well, you’re not exactly living under a rock. It took us a beep from someone who was featured on the site to discover this anti-fashion blog that seems to mirror the style of the Look At This Fucking Hipster Tumblr … Read more

Self-taught Designer of Coupé-Cousu, Alex Yeo Speaks to Us
Understated elegance would be the 2 essential words to describe Coupé-cousu. The label was founded in 2008 with one goal in mind, designing clothes to suit the urbanite who is constantly on the move. In 2009, Coupé-cousu nominated as one of 25 young designer labels to participate in the inaugural Fashion Incubator Project spearheaded by TaFf, SPRING Singapore and Parco Singapore. With no formal training in fashion design, Alex Yeo and Xie Shangqian followed their love for menswear and began creating their first shirts.
Alexis Mabille Loves a Naughty Twist in His Designs
Just last year, I reviewed Alexis Mabille’s designs for Women’s Fashion Week 2011. Noting that he allowed his creativity to flow unrestrained like the Nile, I likened him to a magician as he had the ability of transforming childhood fantasies into wearable garments. His passion for fashion was unmistakably infectious! This year, he was invited to showcase his Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 collection as part of French Couture Week 2012 where he envisioned women as jewels.
Haute Couture’s Next Wave Is The East
So marks the end of a fashion week that went back to the luxury of clothing, stripped bare of the Asian musical acts of its predecessor (although Tim Hwang did turn up one night). Fide Fashion Week had a tough plate to tackle with topping last year’s feat of successfully creating the second couture fashion week recognised … Read more
Christopher Josse tells us Quality is what Defines Haute Couture, Not the Time Spent
Christopher Josse’s fashion journey began when he joined Louis Féraud as a design assistant. His namesake collection was created in 2003 and he has since been awarded the label of Grand Couturier in January 2011. The influence of his education in Art History is unmistakable as elements of Romanticism and Classicism are seen in the long, elegant gowns and strong, sinuous silhouettes. In his interview with Popspoken, he reveals that the imagery imprinted in his mind whilst studying Art does get subconsciously chanelled into his designs.

Anne Fontaine and Silvian Imberg rocked the stage at Women’s Fashion Week 2012
Women’s Fashion Week 2012 saw couturiers Anne Fontaine and Silvian Imberg sending their Fall/Winter 2012 oeuvres down the runway. Both collections featured ready-to-wear pieces that are casual yet chic. That’s where the similarities of both designers end. In terms of themes and style, Anne Fontaine and Silvian Imberg were obviously vastly different: Anne Fontaine’s girls … Read more

Ruffeo Hearts Lil Snotty are designers of the Future
Popspoken’s globar radar has detected the exceptional RHLS label – brainchild of the indomitable, bi-winning duo from Brooklyn, NYC. Ruffeo Hearts Lil Snotty’s off-beat palette, unconventional silhouettes screams “Fresh!”. The intriguing, experimental feel of their apparel aims to fulfill a ‘deficit in design’ – and damn right they did, as exemplified by their eye-popping designs. RHLS sponsors Le1f, purveyor of individuality and rap beats which are mind-blowing and out of this world.. but that is an article that should be saved for another day.
