With Thailand greatly saddened by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej‘s passing, the entire nation will be observing a 100-day grieving period to heal. Wonderfruit 2016 organisers, Scratch First Co. Ltd, has respectfully postponed the festival to February 16th – 19th, 2017. The festival grounds, The Fields at Siam Country Club of Pattaya, Thailand will remain unchanged.
Releasing a statement earlier this week, the gesture of postponement seeks to pay tribute to the late King for his dedication and grace that has inspired an entire nation. This change in dates follows the guidelines set by the government of Thailand and to be united in the country’s sentiment.
For ticket-holders that can no longer attend the festival with its newly proposed dates, refund will be available throughout the month of November and details can be found here. As for the line-up, most of the acts will still be on for February but we are still awaiting for the exact changes as well as up-dates.
We would love to give a big shout-out to the Wonderfruit team for being so efficient and dealing with these changes so graciously.
What is Wonderfruit 2016?
A festival that proves celebrating art, music and life can go hand in hand with social responsibility, this annual party is an adventure for all. The celebration takes place over four days with talks about positive change, sustainable living as well as live performances from renowned artistes.
The organisers have also pledged to offset the carbon footprint created by the festival through investing in Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve.
Earlier this year, Young Fathers, Lianne La Havas and Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood are among the names announced to headline this event.
