A fashion uprising at Zouk
Fashion collective The Fashion Uprising made its mark at Zouk on July 22. The collective brings together labels at the forefront of the online shopping phenomenon here, including Dressabelle and The Closet Lover. The event also had a 27-minute, 650-metre runway show spanning the entire Zouk complex – talk about epic! Not all was fun and games though: 1500 special drinks called the Love Potion were sold at $10 a pop and 25% of total proceeds went to the Singapore Association for the Visually Handicapped. If you missed it, stay tuned – the peeps at CKL are telling us that a second instalment will happen on December 2012.

Marc Lian from Quick Quick Danger has some mad-rush BPM
Quick Quick Danger is fast catching on with its summer pop ways. Fresh off a single with Veck, vocalist Marc Lian from QQD has now formed a new duo with Richard Jansen called Trick. Their lead single “BPM” (that’s Beats Per Minute, FYI) is everything you would expect from a summer smash, from glitchy hooks to saccharine lyrics. Check out the lyric video below.

The stars came out at Coach
With the spanking-new Wisma Atria mall front comes the launch of the Coach flagship store in the heart of Orchard Road. Some big name stars turned out in support of the launch, including Hong Kong celeb couple Simon Yam and Qi Qi as well as Singapore celebs such as Rozz, Nat Ho, Sheila Sim and Anita Kapoor. The flagship store is the largest in Singapore, spanning some 4,600 square feet. It features the most extensive men’s collection in the region. To look out for: the new Legacy Collection, which – gasp – has no monograms on it! The cleaner-looking, candy-coloured bags are definitely a game changer in Coach’s branding.
Walk past Wisma Atria and you’ll see the Coach entrance. That’s right – we don’t even need to give you the address for this one.
VOID Watches launches in Singapore
The cult watch brand launched in 2008 by Swedish designer David Ericsson has made its way onto our shores, thanks to the peeps at Darts Distribution (if you remember, they also brought in Oliberte). The watches are known for their simple design that has its geometrical bearings in architecture. High-quality materials such as stainless steel and premium leather combine with discreet details such as the concentric numbers following the path of time. This Fall, VOID launches their V03 collection with a focus on top ring construction so the watch is thin and sleek. While V03A’s Alarm collection comes in four classic colour ways, V03B’s Basic collection comes in six modern colour ways.
VOID is available at Strangelets, 7 Yong Siak Street; Cumulus, 501 Orchard Road, #02-14, Wheelock Place as well as at Threadbare & Squirrel, 43 Haji Lane.
