Nokia Rekonstrck – Best Tertiary Band will win $1,000!
Belong to a tertiary school and enjoy playing in a band? Want a cash prize of $1000 plus free music lessons at Timbre Music Academy? Here’s your chance to rock and win! Calling all tertiary students who are currently in a band, here’s the chance to represent your school in Nokia Rekonstrck!
Nokia Rekonstrck is an inter-tertiary band competition where 10 of the best bands from each tertiary school will perform to earn the title of Best Tertiary Band in Singapore.
The 10 tertiary schools involved are namely Republic Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, LASALLE College of the Arts, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, National University of Singapore, Singapore Management University and Singapore Institute of Management.
Following a preliminary selection process on their campaign page, each school will be represented by the best band selected by their fans as well as the panel of glorified judges.
The last band standing will receive a cash prize of $1000, music lessons with Timbre Music Academy, the opportunity to be talent-spotted by industry experts and ultimately bring glory to their school’s music scene.
The judges for the event are as follows:
Kevin Lester: rapper and frontman of the star-studded 9-piece band SIXX. Along with his band, Kevin has performed at renowned events such as SingFest, Zoukout! and even the recent IGNITE! Music Festival.
Mr. Lim Sek: a big name in the local music scene who manages successful acts such as Tanya Chua. Dick Lee, Sheikh Haikel and many others. He is also the founder of Republic of POP. A veteran in the industry whose input will hold credibility and weight for bands seeking their big break into the local music scene.
Representatives from Timbre Music Academy also make up this noble judging panel. Timbre Music Academy is famous for putting focus not only on technique, theory and other “classroom” aspects of music but also on stage performances and real-world elements. With 6 live music venues across the city featuring prominent local bands every night – Timbre is Live Music. They will mold you to make that quantum leap from closet to stage musician.
To enter, simply fulfill all requirements as stated above. Send over a live performance video involving your band (jamming sessions or events) together with a proper band photo to email@example.com by 22nd July 2011 (Friday), 11:59pm!
