2011 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists Revealed
10 finalists for this year’s Council of Fashion Designers America (CFDA)/Vogue Fashion Fund have been revealed in New York. Now in its eighth cycle, this prestigious fashion fund has given rise to the next badass labels with the likes of Proenza Schouler, Prabal Gurung, Marchesa, Rodarte, 3.1 Philip Lim and Alexander Wang.
The finalists were chosen by the judging committee, including Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler (who join the committee for the first time this year), Jeffrey Kalinsky of Jeffrey and Nordstrom, Reed Krakoff of Coach, Jenna Lyons of J.Crew, Andrew Rosen of Theory, Diane von Furstenberg and Steven Kolb of the CFDA, and Anna Wintour and Mark Holgate of Vogue.
This year’s finalists are:
AA, Antonio Azzuolo (Popspoken predicts: runner-up)
Altuzarra, Joseph Altuzarra (second time as a finalist; Popspoken predicts: winner)
Carlos Campos, Carlos Campos
Creatures of the Wind, Shane Gabier and Christopher Peters
Cushnie Et Ochs, Michelle Ochs and Carly Cushnie
Finn Jewelry, Soraya Silchenstedt
Fenton/Fallon, Dana Lorenz (she designs two jewellery lines! The Carrington necklace for J.Crew is FABULOUS)
Ohne Titel, Alexa Adams and Flora Gill
Pamela Love, Pamela Love (second time as a finalist)
Suno, Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty (Popspoken predicts: runner-up)
The winners will be announced at a gala dinner in New York on November 14.
