We predict the winners of the MTV Movie Awards 2011!
The MTV Movie Awards is back again, and we are so excited about it! Take a break from the seriosity of the Oscars and celebrate your favourite films with MTV’s iconic award categories, hosted by Jason Sudiekis!
So what are award shows without predictions right? We have taken the liberty of predicting the winners this year and boy was it tough! There has been so much buzz about Black Swan, Harry Potter and the Twilight Saga : Eclipse, but how will they fare against the other underdogs?
1) Best Kiss
Prediction : Mila Kunis & Natalie Portman
I mean come on, how often do we have two bombshell ballerinas making out passionately in a film so sinister and dark it’s beautiful? I think the world has had enough of vampires, mystical shadows and lammas making out. Right?
However, JGL could take this one for being smooth with Ellen Page. But really, ballerinas > dreamers anytime.
2) Best Fight
Prediction : JGL V.S Hallway Villain
If you can’t fight with zero gravity, you are not a fighter. While Amy Adams clearly knocked Wahlberg’s sister out hard and Harry Potter took magic to a diner, Inception’s scene bags this one for taking fight scenes to a whole new level with zero gravity.
When Christopher Nolan filmed Inception, he was all set to mindfuck, and he has succeeded. This scene is so cool, it’s iconic.
3) Best Villain
Prediction : Ned Beatty
This bear is a dream crusher and badass, full-time. Who needs human villians when you can tell it like it is and prove that not all bears are cute and innocent?
4) Best Jaw Dropping Moment
Prediction : Jackass 3D
The other nominees in this category were either gory, cringe-worthy or simply irrelevant (Never Say Never, really?). Jackass marries jaw dropping and stomach churning together, leaving us disturbed, disgusted but extremely entertained. Now even Inception can’t do that.
5) Biggest Badass Star
Prediction : JGL
You can’t deny that he is suave. He shows the world how to control a badass situation while staying calm and dapper. Sure the others are new comers and fully versatile but i don’t really think any of them can play a character so smooth, not even Robert Downey Jr.
Yeap, i said it.
6) Biggest Scared As Shit Performance
Prediction : Jessica Szohr
Yeah the fishies are fake, but when she was stuck in a cabin with fake fishies swimming underneath, she was scared as shit! It definitely kept me at the edge of my seat. I mean come on, if the Piranha could bite off a penis, it is capable of almost anything.
Ryan Reynolds came in pretty close. Buried was a bore, but he kept it alive and i felt claustrophobic just by watching him!
7) Best Line From A Movie
Prediction : The Social Network
“If you guys were the inventors of Facebook, you’d have invented Facebook.”
8) Biggest Breakout Star
Prediction : Chloe Grace Moretz
She is only 12 and she is literally kicking ass! I smell a dakota fanning in the making. I don’t think anyone else can work that Balisong like she does!
9) Best Comedic Performance
Prediction : Zach Galifianakis
There is always that guy in a movie that people just love to hate, or grow to hate. Many times these people are like Vince Vaughn but Due Date definitely brought out the annoying guy in Zach. He is possibly the most narcissistic, delusional and emotional character i’ve seen so far and the best part is that it’s done so effortlessly!
10) Best Female Performance
Prediction : Natalie Portman
This was a little bit obvious for me. She seemed so tormented, paranoid and mentally unstable in Black Swan that sometimes i was wondering if it carried on to her personal life.
Emma Stone came really close with her effortless sarcasm and so did Jennifer Anniston for being a romcom veteran. But none of these ladies displayed the same level of commitment Natalie Portman evidently possessed in Black Swan, that’s for sure.
11) Best Male Performance
Prediction : Jesse Eisenberg
Jesse easily bags this for his spot on portrayal of Facebook’s CEO. Arrogant, heartless and tactless, he seems to piss everyone around him without even trying! Now that is what i call a performance. The last person that embraced this role was Vince Vaughn. The only difference is that you don’t appreciate Vince’s character as much as Jesse’s.
Another notable performance is by Zac Efron for Charlie St. Cloud. He has finally shed his association with teeny movies and proved that he is worthy of bigger roles with his versatility!
For now, Jesse reigns supreme coz he’s CEO, bitch.
12) Best Movie
This one is tough. We have Inception, The Social Network and Black Swan. All three excellent in their own way and highly acclaimed.
Inception brings us deep into the world of manipulation and dreams while The Social Network serves as an entertaining drama about the beginning of Facebook and of course, we have Black Swan -the psycho-thriller that left us all wondering what the hell just happened.
Prediction : Black Swan
At the end of the day, Black Swan comes on top for proving that it is possible to convey a compelling story through mind-boggling symbolism with excellent art direction. There was so much dedication to their specific roles that this film felt more like a breakthrough.
That’s about all the predictions! Who do you think should’ve won instead of the ones pointed out? Share it in the comments, we would love to hear it!
