5 Indie bands that you need to check out!

hipster

Sure they may be hipsters and their fans might be pretentious pricks, but hey, they make good music!

1. Harlem Shakes

They may have disbanded 2 years back, but their music lives on. “Sunlight”, like the title suggests, is such a great song that brightens up your day.

2. The Wombats

Floral prints on a guitar, a music video that doesn’t make much sense, and a reference to some obscure post-punk band from the 70s. Hipster is pretty much written all over. But still, “Let’s Dance to Joy Division” is a great song!

3. The Hundred In The Hands

Guess they’re too underground to have a Wikipedia page, huh? “Pigeons” is a pretty weird music video, but I guess now we know who inspired Katy Perry’s “Firework” video!

4. The Mountain Goats

An amazing indie lo-fi band! John Darnielle’s vocals are amazing, not to mention his songwriting skills! And even when he messes up the lyrics in this video, “Going to Georgia” still sounds brilliant.

5. Wolf Gang

This “MGMT-esque” synthpop band is just amazing, I swear! Their first full-length album “Suego Faults” comes out in July, and I’m pretty damn psyched!

So, do you love these bands as much as I do? .)
